Coach Shaun had a laudable draft in the recent 2016 Earlston Fantasy Football League draft. Their Fife Fire franchise came away with the number 3 ranked draft (out of 12) in the league based on analysis by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Fife Fire made their best pick of the draft in round 7, selecting Drew Brees with the 79th pick of the draft, as compared to the 51st spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. “He’s being groomed for a future starting job,” Fife Fire coach Shaun said.

Fife Fire made their worst pick of the draft in round 2, selecting Doug Martin with the 18th pick of the draft, as compared to the 30th spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. “He’s a work in progress,” Fife Fire coach Shaun said.

With a little bit of work on the waiver wire this season, or a few strategic trades, coach Shaun should be able to turn their 3rd ranked draft effort into a championship fantasy team this year.

2015

Coach Shaun had a noteworthy draft in the recent 2015 Earlston Fantasy Football League draft. Their Fife Fire franchise came away with the number 3 ranked draft (out of 12) in the league based on analysis by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Fife Fire nabbed Le’Veon Bell in the 1st round, which reflects the fact that he was the number one ranked running back for the 2014 season. However, it could be a rough 2 week start for the Fire while he’s suspended due to the lack of quality depth. Both Bernard and Ellington appear to be strong flex plays and it’ll be a surprise if they can hide Bell’s loss. Fred Jackson is the only other RB depth.

The lack of depth at RB could be masked with apparent strengths at WR. Both Hilton and Evans are low grade WR1s and they are joined by 3 strong match-up plays in Torrey Smith, Charles Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.

Drew Brees looks like a steal in round 5, but it could be a long year for backup Cam Newton. Both of these players used to be top 5 QBs in fantasy if one can even get close to that production again Coach Shaun could have one of the bargains of the season.

The TE position is workmanlike with Witten and Thomas. Perhaps Shaun should have used his backup position on a lottery ticket player?

Blair Walsh and the trending Broncos look like strong picks at K and DST.

With a little bit of work on the waiver wire this season, or a few strategic trades, coach Shaun should be able to turn their 3rd ranked draft effort into a playoff fantasy team this year.
