Coach Paul had a humdrum draft in the recent 2017 Earlston Fantasy Football League draft. Their Tweedbank Pirates franchise came away with the number 7 ranked draft (out of 12) in the league based on analysis by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Tweedbank Pirates made their best pick of the draft in round 5, selecting Drew Brees with the 56th pick of the draft, as compared to the 31st spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. “He needs to bulk-up in the off-season,” Tweedbank Pirates coach Paul said.

Tweedbank Pirates made their worst pick of the draft in round 3, selecting Michael Crabtree with the 32nd pick of the draft, as compared to the 46th spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. “He’s a project,” Tweedbank Pirates coach Paul said.

Starting in week 9, Tweedbank Pirates won’t be able to submit a full lineup, due to having 1 defensive team on bye.

With a little bit of work on the waiver wire this season, or a few strategic trades, coach Paul should be able to turn their 7th ranked draft effort into a championship fantasy team this year.

2015

Coach Paul had an impressive showing in the recent 2015 Earlston Fantasy Football League draft. Their Tweedbank Pirates franchise came away feeling exuberant about their top grade in the league based on analysis by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Their roster certainly has some top class talent and the driving force of the team will be the Luck-Bryant combination. Golden Tate and a healthy Vincent Jackson should provide good support as WR2 and Flex plays. As for the other WRs Marcus Wheaton has disappointed in Pittsburgh so far, but with Martevius Bryant suspended he’ll have 4 weeks to prove the critics wrong. Doug Baldwin is a likely roster casualty in week 1.

The Pirates look vulnerable at RB. A lot of hope is riding on rookie Melvin Gordon and he’ll need to pick up 3rd down assignments quickly if he’s to succeed this year. Unfortunately for coach Paul a returning Danny Woodhead may limit his effectiveness.  The decision to draft two Washington running backs when their season is expected to go down the pan was baffling despite the apparent ADP value.  Alfred Blue may prove to be a useful 1-4 week starter whereas Roy Helu has already sunk to the bottom of the Raiders depth chart.

Delanie Walker mans the TE spot and is a decent week to week play. Coach Paul will hope he develops an early relationship with Marcus Mariota.

Tweedbank Pirates nabbed kicker and defense early in the draft and picked up  Stephen Gostkowski the number one ranked place kicker for the 2014 season and the Seahawks DSTin round 7.

Time will tell if coach Paul can take their top-ranked draft all the way to the league championship.
