View From The Pit 2015 – week 12

Week 12 kicks off on Thursday with three games for thanksgiving, there’s a few turkeys in this league for sure. A time for sharing and caring? Maybe for Rab and cozy – who seem to be through, but for everyone else it’s still fighting tooth and nail for those coveted playoff berths.

A song for thanksgiving – well this is the closest i can get really

Uhuras is still all square – that’s got to be the place to start for the matchups this week:

Avengers at Jaguars

6-5 Kelsae Avengers play the 6-5 Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars at Die Walküre Stadion.
Avengers were led in week 11 by a 16.00 point effort from the Carolina Panthers Defensive Team. Calvin Johnson was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 8.80points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12 due to an injured ankle , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Kelsae Avengers can expect a 15.41 point effort from Alex Smith in week 12.

Jaguars were led in week 11 by a 13.08 point effort from Tom BradyJustin Forsett was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 2.60 points, but he’s listed as out in week 12 due to an injured arm , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars can expect a 17.54 point effort from Tom Brady in week 12.

In week 5, Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars defeated Kelsae Avengers by 50.98 points. Yep – 50 pts. Stuart’sRookie season has been a bit of a baptism of fire, with just 1 week over 90 pts. Even so – he’s sitting pretty at 6-5 along with the jags who’ve scored nearly 300 pts more over the season. The winner of this game could jump to the top – but for Stuart that’s only if Fog also lose. Even a win here is not enough to guarantee the top spot for Uhura, though Jimmy would take some catching next week if he wins this game. Stuart needs some TDs, and they could come from any of his well ranked players.  The numbers certainly stack up for the Jags, with this seasons history. However, again and again these matchups come down to 1 or 2 TDS, and MFL has the Avengers by a good few poits. With the likely yardage being pretty close it may only need 1 TD to take this game. The Pit is going to go with those Avengers for this week.

Pirates at Fog

3-8 Tweedbank Pirates play the 6-5 Fog on the Tyne at New St James Park.
Pirates were led in week 11 by a 10.90 point effort fromDelanie WalkerDez Bryant was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 10.50 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12 due to an injured foot , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Tweedbank Pirates can expect a 15.81 point effort from Blake Bortles in week 12.

Fog were led in week 11 by a 18.30 point effort from LeSean McCoyJoe Flacco was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 11.96 points, but he’s listed as out in week 12 due to an injured knee , which might severely limit his fantasy production.  Fog on the Tyne can expect a 13.46 point effort from Tyrod Taylor in week 12

In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Tweedbank Pirates hold a 1-2-0 all-time series record against Fog on the Tyne. Paul’s Pirates are just about sunk. They could conceivably make second in Kirk, but they are unlikely to get that playoff spot unless the can score way huge. Fog on the other hand are tied, if the Avengers win along with the Fog, it puts Fog in pole to take Hooker by a nose next week. Paul’s QB woes this season could be salvaged by the steady hand of Blake Bortles in the Early Sunday game, hes’ had a couple of off games, but has been a steady 16-20 pts for most of the season. Steadying the Pirate ship is what’s needed here and Gostkowki with the Bengals DST is at the other end of the roster to do just that, between them that should be 15-20 pts in the bag. Its in the rest of the lineup that Stuart has the advantage really. Lesean McCoy and Tyler Eifert could really sink the ship between them, and Matt Forte looks likely to return to action too. All of that looks pretty good for Stuart, and they’ve got to hope that they will not even need Justin Tucker to kick them to victory Monday night. That looks like the result for me – a win for fog.

Unbelievably – TJ Hooker is led by a team with a negative record – a chance to get into the playoffs by a back door

69ers at 187s

4-7 SanFran-Gordon 69ers challenge the 5-6 Kelso 187’s at Compton Palace.
69ers were led in week 11 by a 19.08 point effort fromAaron RodgersDanny Amendola was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 11.70 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12 due to an injured knee , which might severely limit his fantasy production. SanFran-Gordon 69ers can expect a 18.80 point effort from Aaron Rodgers in week 12.

187’s were led in week 11 by a 17.90 point effort from Matt RyanDarren McFadden was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 14.90 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12 due to an injured groin , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Kelso 187’s can expect a 13.44 point effort from Matt Ryan in week 12.

In week 8, Kelso 187’s defeated SanFran-Gordon 69ers by 15.90 points. In the 2-year history of this rivalry, SanFran-Gordon 69ers hold a 0-3-0 all-time series record against Kelso 187’s.

TJ Hooker is still wide open, but the winner of this game will  fancy their chances at the playoffs. Unless the other 2 teams are very lucky with results around the league, there will only be one team qualifying from Hooker, so this will feel like a must win for both Richie and Euan. Aaron Rogers gets things going for the niners on Thursday, but that will be past my bedtime for sure, so its Friday morning that will see the dust settle, Randle Cobb for the 187s is also in action overnight Thursday so it shouldn’t be a massive lead either way. The rest of the match ups looks quite even, though McFadden and Woodhead for the 187s should comfortably net at least 5 more points than their opposites. Late Sunday the Gronk takes the field and gives the 69ers a last shot at glory, he’s more than capable of settling this game and with Danny Amedola to back him up, Richie may be tempted to wait up. With Vernon Davis a pretty outside bet to score 10 or more, 187s want to be a good 30 points up by midnight Sunday, if they are Euan will perhaps get some sleep. Good news for the garage on Monday form the Pit though, as that’s what the pit prediction is, a win for the 187s

Tigers at Fire

4-7 Tranent Tigers play the 5-6 Fife Fire at Balbirnie Stadium.
Tigers were led in week 11 by a 16.60 point effort from James WhiteTony Romo was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 13.28 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12due to an injured shoulder , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Tranent Tigers can expect a 14.54 point effort from Jameis Winston in week 12.

Fire were led in week 11 by a 31.44 point effort from Cam Newton.  Fife Fire can expect a 18.65 point effort from Cam Newton in week 12,

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. fire had a good start to the season but despite being top of Hooker its gone a bit damp for coach Shaun, maybe this week can see a bit of Ray Mears action to get that fire going again. Tigers on the other hand have never even got going, interestingly enough they have a pretty good points for record, around the middle of the pack – its just that they’ve really not had any stellar weeks- they’ve been consistently making their regulation 10 per player, and coming up against teams that have just been on good weeks. Its not all lost however for the Tigers, With Pickaxe against the dominating Panthers, there is a slim chance to steal a playoff spot. Adrian Peterson and Julio Jones have got to be a good bet in any week, and both have decent match ups this week for a chance to get a good 30 – 40 pts on the table, as luck would have it for Nicky they are facing each other, the best case is surely that Peterson scores a couple of first half TDs forcing Atlanta to go to the air in the second half – if Atlanta take an early lead that could be bad news for both these players, and Nicky’s season could be done. Shaun’s Fire look to Cam Newton at Dallas, and his scrambling capabilities could bring him a bonus couple of points if he runs in a TD himself instead of passing it away for 4. Although Shaun’sWR team are a little less fancied than the opposition, they still have a great chance to put up some numbers, a good game for both of them could turn this game away form the odds, however, the pit generally goes with the numbers and that’s where we’ll go here- a win for Tigers.

Kirk and Shatner are a bit more closed off, but there’s still plenty to play for with those wildcard slots

Bohemians at Earthquakes

5-6 Earlstonian Bohemians face off against the 7-4 Earlston Earthquakes at The Cauldie.
Bohemians were led in week 11 by a 22.00 point effort fromAndy Dalton. Based on projections from Fantasy Sharks, Earlstonian Bohemians can expect a 14.55 point effort from Andy Dalton in week 12,

Earthquakes were led in week 11 by a 24.58 point effort from Carson PalmerJordan Reed was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 2.60points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12 due to an injured knee , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Earlston Earthquakes can expect a 19.23 point effort from Charcandrick West in week 12,

In week 1, Earlstonian Bohemians defeated Earlston Earthquakes by 2.92 points. In the 3-year history of this rivalry, Earlstonian Bohemians hold a 2-3-0 all-time series record against Earlston Earthquakes.

This Game will seal the deal in Kirk – Earthquakes can be caught in the division, as their divisional record is not great. Ally’s Bohemians are in the last chance saloon for a playoff berth though, and they need to win and win big to have a chance. WR seems the best chance for the BOHOs;   Odell Beckham and  Martavis Bryant both have a shot at 15 pt plus games. Unfortunately for ally, those 2 wides are the lone stars in an otherwise average matchup week for the Bohos, the sliders point well towards Cozys Earthquakes at QB and RB. Both the Quakes TEs are questionable though, and Gary Barnstormer could come out of nowhere again to save the Boho bacon.

All in all, the earthquakes look like continuing their stellar run of form this week – lessons for the league there – first month waiver pickups FTW! That result would please pretty much everyone else in the league though….

Pickaxe at Panthers

6-5 Nitten Pickaxe challenge the 9-2 Pilton Panthers at Pilton Park.
Pickaxe were led in week 11 by a 37.50 point effort from Thomas RawlsDevonta Freeman was not injured before the start of his week 11 game, and contributed 4.30 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 12 due to a concussion , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Nitten Pickaxe can expect a 16.61 point effort from Russell Wilson in week 12,

Panthers were led in week 11 by a 23.80 point effort from DeAndre Hopkins. Pilton Panthers can expect a 17.59 point effort from Philip Rivers in week 12,

In week 1, Nitten Pickaxe defeated Pilton Panthers by 6.10 points. In the 3-year history of this rivalry, Nitten Pickaxe hold a 3-2-0 all-time series record against Pilton Panthers.

Panthers are through by a country mile, they cannot be stopped from their rightful playoff space – but there is interest from all over the league in this match up, the Tigers are not quit eout of the race and  Pickaxe will be chasing that precious wildcard spot. Its a tough end of the regular season for Pickaxe and coach Gav. The Panthers team that lost by a slither earlier this year are long gone – replaced by high rollers across the board – Fantasypros has no one in Rab’s panthers ranked outside the top 20 in their respective positions this week. Theres no guarantee that Pickaxe early season pickup Devonta Freeman will be passed to play from his concussion last week, which adds to Gav’s worries. Rawls went big in Lynch’s shoes last week – but the Steelers defense is a different prospect. Rab doesn’t have to bank on anyone in particular but does have a couple of questionables in the squad, so its by no means a done deal. If any one of Martin Stewart Hopkins or TE Greg Olsen can go over 25 pts, this game may be over, and that could happen before bed on Thursday for Stewart or Olsen.

The panthers are through though – their studs need a rest, and the Pickaxe surely want this win more? its a win for the axe and a beckoning wildcard spot.

that’s yer lot

View From The Pit 2015 – Week 10

Here we are week 10, Armistice day over here, Veterans day on the other side of the Pond. There’s a whole load of politics that’s a bit too much for this blog, and this is one of those issues – better folk than me can go into it.

Just for a change here’s a couple of relevant tunes this week – the first an old one and the second a bit more up to date and angry.

Apologies for that diversion, back to the ball game

Fire at Bohemians

5-4 Fife Fire face off against the 4-5 Earlstonian Bohemians at Bohemian Park.

Fire were led in week 9 by a 31.38 point effort from Drew Brees. Fife Fire can expect a 21.00 point effort from Drew Brees in week 10.

Bohemians were led in week 9 by a 26.10 point effort from Lamar Miller. Earlstonian Bohemians can expect a 17.24 point effort from Andy Dalton in week 10

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Ally’s beloved Jets DST gets things off on Thursday night, with both teams waiting on Bengals to finish the job Monday. Fire have slowed a bit after a blistering start to the season and coach Shaun has had a couple of weeks to fil the big boots of Leveon Bell now – so we’lll see if he’s got some more fuel for the fire – the numbers say maybe, but Bohemians look likely to be high scoring this week too. Fire’s Broncos DST are the number 1 ranked this week, and that could put some high numbers down the bottom of the score sheet – Shaun could be bottom heavy all the way as his Kicker  and Flex look to have the better of the Boho equivalents. Ally looks to the top side for his points with a stellar looking RB team this week and top pick up gary Barnstormer at TE. All in all this has the potential for a high scoring game – which makes the predictions harder, but I’m going with the Bohemians on this occasion.

Jaguars at Earthquakes

5-4 Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars face off against the 5-4 Earlston Earthquakes at The Cauldie.
Jaguars were led in week 9 by a 17.86 point effort from Tom Brady. Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars can expect a 22.94 point effort from Tom Brady in week 10.

Earthquakes were led in week 9 by a 26.34 point effort from Derek CarrAllen Hurns was not injured before the start of his week 9 game, and contributed 18.20 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 10 due to an injured foot , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Earlston Earthquakes can expect a 16.01 point effort from DeMarco Murray in week 10.

In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars hold a 2-2-0 all-time series record against Earlston Earthquakes. Earthquakes are on some roll, 5 wins on the bounce has to ease the early season pain somewhat for Cozy. Jags on the other hand are a wee bit up and down, with the overall highest points for and 3 of the highest weekly scores, but also a few weeks where they’ve failed to reach 70. Jimmy has action on Thursday with Eric Decker and waits til; Monday to seal the deal with Jeremy Hill. Cozy is going to get it all done on Sunday. Tom Brady is really the only bright light in an otherwise dark looking week for Jimmy, whilst Cozy has a stellar looking RB double assault with both ranked in the top 5. WR, TE and Flex are much harder to call one way or the other – and could of course swing it for Jimmy, but the Pit predictor is going for a the quakes to increase their streak.

187s at Pirates

4-5 Kelso 187’s challenge the 3-6 Tweedbank Pirates at Gun Knowe Stadium.
187’s were led in week 9 by a 28.60 point effort from Antonio BrownLatavius Murray was not injured before the start of his week 9 game, and contributed 7.50points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 10 due to an injured concussion , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Kelso 187’s can expect a 14.66 point effort from Antonio Brown in week 10.

Pirates were led in week 9 by a 36.50 point effort from DeAngelo Williams, Dez Bryant was not injured before the start of his week 9 game, and contributed 16.40points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 10 due to an injured knee , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Tweedbank Pirates can expect a 16.20 point effort from DeAngelo Williams in week 10

Both teams have a bit of a bye week issues- with 3 of each out. The Bengals could be a good bet to finish the job for the Pirates on Monday morning and Euan will want to be a good 18 points up by Sunday night to guarantee the win. Where might he make that happen? its not at RB where scooped up Pirate DeAngelo Williams defied more than one pundit to fill Bell’s boots with some style last week and has guaranteed himself most of the snaps for the rest of the season. WR is a different matter – with Euan perhaps having the best set in the league right now – with 3 receivers in the top 11 this week, that’s some potential for big points, and only 1 of them need have a great game to turn this to Euan’s advantage. However, if Dez is fit for the Pirates those points will be eaten into quite quickly. There’s a few injuries to call later in the week, but if all the probables play – this one’s going to the Pirates.

Fog at Pickaxe

5-4 Fog on the Tyne challenge the 5-4 Nitten Pickaxe at New Victoria Park.
Fog were led in week 9 by a 23.30 point effort from Tyler Eifert. Fog on the Tyne can expect a 16.58 point effort from Joe Flacco in week 10.

Pickaxe were led in week 9 by a 17.60 point effort from Jay Cutler. Nitten Pickaxe can expect a 13.83 point effort from Demaryius Thomas in week 10.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015, and is sure to be a hard-fought struggle. In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Fog on the Tyne hold a 3-1-0 all-time series record against Nitten Pickaxe.

This one will be close. with both teams struggling for a playoff berth there will be no stone unturned to find that special someone who might sway this game. Pickaxe have had a tough time against the Fog in the last couple of years and coach Gav has a point to prove. Stuart needs this win bad in the level pegging Uhura league though and will be bringing some of that Northern pride when he brings the Fog to the Pickaxe home turf. Theres a Thursday night RB battle with Fog’s LeSean Mccoy vs Pickaxe’s Chris Ivory. If the Bills Jets game gets too one sided, then this game could be just about sealed by monday morning, they are pretty evenly mathced this week – so expect only a 1 TD 6 pt lead Friday Am, whichever way it goes. The rest is Sunday apart for  Tyler Eifert who could be the saving grace for the Fog on Monday – he’s not had 2 games on the trot that have gone well, but he has some serious potential as we saw last week. All in all, the Predictor has to go with Pickaxe for this struggle.

Tigers at 69ers

2-7 Tranent Tigers, who hope to end their 5 game losing streak, face off against the 4-5 SanFran-Gordon 69ers at Castle Greyskull.
Tigers were led in week 9 by a 22.20 point effort from Jeremy Langford. Tranent Tigers can expect a 14.44 point effort from Jameis Winston in week 10.

69ers were led in week 9 by a 32.96 point effort from Aaron Rodgers. SanFran-Gordon 69ers can expect a 22.34 point effort from Aaron Rodgers in week 10.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Richie’s 69ers are Bills heavy ,and should see a wad of points come Friday morning from the DST and Karlos Williams, Bills are the away team though , which has cost around a couple of points to DSTs so far this season. 69ers also have AJ green in action on Monday night, whilst not ‘on fire’ he’s been reliable for a good few points and Nicky will want to be 20 points up to think he’s done enough. Nicky packs it all in on Sunday, at least having the luxury of watching most of the scoring live. Another double top 10 RB team here could do some serious damage to the 69ers dreams, as Richie is still struggling at RB. nicky looks solid if not steallar at WR and TE too, expect that Monday night game to be the clincher, but I think the Tigers will have done enough to seal it.

Panthers at Avengers

7-2 Pilton Panthers face off against the 5-4 Kelsae Avengers at Samuel Sawyer Memorial Park.
Panthers were led in week 9 by a 21.36 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger. Pilton Panthers can expect a 13.48 point effort from DeAndre Hopkins in week 10.

Avengers were led in week 9 by a 15.70 point effort from Sam BradfordEddie Lacy was not injured before the start of his week 9 game, and contributed -1.00 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 10 due to an injured groin , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Kelsae Avengers can expect a 12.36 point effort from Sam Bradford in week 10.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Avengers looked set for a terrible score from just about the get go last weekend, and a negative score from Lacy must have hurt. Stuart must want to bounce back hard, but that will be tough against the still flying Panthers – out in front in the league by a couple of clear games now, and almost assured of a playoff spot. Rab has to wait all the way till monday night for his projected high scorer – but that has meant nothing all season as his team have fired on all cylinders from the get go. Can that run of yds and tds last till the end of the season? Certainly Rab now has a fairer slice of the injuries pie, which could give Stuart’s Avengers some hope. The rest of the league will want a bit of that Vengeance, not least in Shatner division, where Rab looks a little unstoppable. unfortunately for Stuart the numbers do not add up, he’s a wee advantage at QB, K and DST, but in all the skill positions its Panther’s ready to pounce. The Pit’s heart says Avengers but the head says Panthers, I’ll keep it to myself which I put in the pickem system.

that’s yer lot

View From The Pit 2015 – Week 11

Week eleven already, 3 games of regular season action left and still a chance to get to the playoffs. Rab has booke his place for the panthers, its just a case of whose going to join him – I’ll let you do the maths, like most things it’s a bit more complex than it might seem:

Here’s the big game this week, the league big guns fight it out at the top of the tree.

Fog at Panthers

6-4 Fog  challenge the 8-2  Panthers at Pilton Park.
Fog were led in week 10 by a 15.90 point effort fromLeSean McCoy. Fog on the Tyne can expect a 15.53 point effort fromTyrod Taylor in week 11

Panthers were led in week 10 by a 15.10 point effort from Jonathan Stewart. Pilton Panthers can expect a 17.47 point effort from Philip Rivers in week 11.

In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Fog on the Tyne hold a 1-1-0 all-time series recordagainst Pilton Panthers. Fog are in no way assured of their playoff birth – Uhura is still the tightest division, and Panthers cannot take their foot of the gas if they want to assure the best draw in the playoffs. Rab must be prett confident – he still has a spare roster spot as at 9.00 on Wednesday – does the graph agree with that confidence – nope, the stats give this one to the fog by a nose. rab could start tomorrow with Ten RB andrews, but he has a few options at Flex and his srating RB pair will surely be Doug Martin and Jonathan Stewart. Stuart on the other hand has massive depth at RB but at this stage in the week is banking on Matt Forte being fit – that’s not guaranteed and could really dent Fog’s chances if he doesn’t suit up. both teams will expect scores to be pretty even by the end of the Sunday Early game, anyone with a lead of 20 points here can go to bed pretty happy. Rab needs a good 3o-40 point lead Monday if he’s to think he’s got the win in the bag, Tyrod and LeSean go for the Bills in the Monday night game, both scoring for the fog.

With the playoffs so close a new feature of the predictor – What does the league want? with Rab already qualified, and the rest of the league pretty close in – the 10 coaches outside of this game are maybe rooting for a Panthers win. What’s the league gonna get? – the Pit says this one’s going to the wire, but we’ll plump for Fog.

187s at Tigers

5-5 Kelso 187’s, who hope to extend their 3 game winning streak, face off against the 3-7 Tranent Tigers at Polson Park.
187’s were led in week 10 by a 27.90 point effort from Antonio Brown. With Brown on bye in week 11, they’ll need to count on their second-string WR to carry the team this week. Kelso 187’s can expect a 13.44 point effort from Darren McFadden in week 11.

Tigers were led in week 10 by a 30.20 point effort from Jeremy Langford. Tranent Tigers can expect a 14.90 point effort from Julio Jones in week 11.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. It looks like both coaches want to get this done and dusted on Sunday – picking want seem to be a full set of 18 finished by just around midnight Sunday. That doesn’t make it any less exciting – Fantasy sharks call this one neck and neck, less than half a point in it. It surely wont be that close. Nicky has made some poor/unlucky decisions this year depending on how you think this game works. there has to be some juice left in the squad yet – maybe the question is has Nicky given up yet. Tony Romo is scheduled to return to action this week – will Nicky chance it and does he care enough? Plenty of pundits have him as a better option than currently selected Winston, time will tell, and with all games being sunday, there’s plenty of time to make the call. 187s are riding high a bit, but Euan faces a tough bye week challenge this week with 2 players and a DST on the bench – Antonio Brown is surely the biggest miss, and the 5 teams that Euan has beat this week surely wish they’d played the 187s this week.

what does the league want? most of the rest probably want a tigers win – Will they get it – The pit says yes – without Brown the 187s are firing blanks.

Pickaxe at 69ers

5-5 Nitten Pickaxe challenge the 4-6 SanFran-Gordon 69ers at Castle Greyskull.
Pickaxe were led in week 10 by a 16.80 point effort from Russell Wilson. Nitten Pickaxe can expect a 16.98 point effort from Russell Wilson in week 11.

69ers were led in week 10 by a 22.12 point effort fromAaron Rodgers. SanFran-Gordon 69ers can expect a 20.89 point effort from Aaron Rodgers in week 11.

In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Nitten Pickaxe hold a 2-1-0 all-time series record against SanFran-Gordon 69ers. Richie is keeping his lineup close to his chest this week – with nothing announced yet – there’s a few options but they,as always, revolve around the Rogers Gronkowski pair – perhaps the most consistent pair of players at these oft streamed positions. Elsewhere Pickaxe have the lead at RB but cannot compete with the 69er WR team, Demaryius Thomas has been oh so average and Desean Jackson non exisitent – could that all change this week? Coach Gave has to hope so.

At Least Gronk will be in action on Monday – and Amendola is a possibility for Richie too, Gav has the pats DST though, so the points wont all be for Richie.

What does the league want – Pickaxe are more in contention for a spot this week so the league probably wants a 69ers win – will they get it – NO!

Earthquakes at Fire

6-4 Earlston Earthquakes, who hope to extend their 6 game winning streak, face off against the 5-5 Fife Fire at Balbirnie Stadium.
Earthquakes were led in week 10 by a 28.10 point effort from Charcandrick West. Earlston Earthquakes can expect a 18.44 point effort from Charcandrick West in week 11.

Fire were led in week 10 by a 14.80 point effort from Andre Ellington. Fife Fire can expect a 10.69 point effort from Mike Evans in week 11.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Well this certainly is an Earthquake of some magnitude – a 6 game winning streak has to be one of the longest ever, can it continue for Cozy? Shaun started the season as a contender, and needs to get back on track, amazingly Fire are still leading TJ Hooker after a 3 game losing streak – that surely tells you something about the quality of those teams? Anyway – the lineups look top be settling everything on Sunday – Cozy’s quakes getting most of their points in the early game whilst Shaun’s Fire waiting till later. Quakes have the option of some early points from Allen Hurns whose been playing pretty well through some pain, but so far they are going withBrown and Matthews instead. Fire have got to miss Drew Brees this week – Cam Newton is a fine QB though and through good planning he’s facing a great matchup against the raiders….

What does the league want? Quakes are nearly over the line, but not quite, whislt Fire will probably be going to week 13 to be sure, for that reason a quake win suits a few more folk – Will they get it? It’s looking likely, though Cam vs the Broncos could through a big spanner in the works here- the Put goes with the numbers and the quakes.

Bohemians at Jaguars

5-5 Earlstonian Bohemians challenge the 5-5 Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars at Die Walküre Stadion.
Bohemians were led in week 10 by a 21.80 point effort from Martavis Bryant. With Bryant on bye in week 11, they’ll need to count on their second-string WR to carry the team this week. Earlstonian Bohemians can expect a 16.98 point effort from Andy Dalton in week 11

Jaguars were led in week 10 by a 18.26 point effort from Tom Brady. Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars can expect a 20.64 point effort from Tom Brady in week 11.

In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Earlstonian Bohemians hold a 2-0-0 all-time series record against Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars. Jimmy has a point to prove against the commissioner here, having never won this match up – however this week looks a good bet with Ally having the bye week from hell just when he doesn’t need it – no excuses for that though as you can see that coming! Jimmy waits patiently to pounce on Monday night with Tom Brady and LeGarrette Blount agaist the Bills. Ally will have to get his makeshift teams butts moving all Sunday night to have any chance here. Bohos need to be a good 40 points up though they do have a lst gasp with Bills TE Charles Clay, that would be some game for him to pull this one out of the bag. Lamar Miller and the Jets are the 2 lone lights for the Bohos this week, can they save the Boho season – they may not have to – with the Pirates far away Bohos can still sew up 2nd in Kirk without this win – is that the plan?

What do the league want – not sure here – both teams are in the very busy running for the 2 ‘highest loser’ playoff spots, but of course Jimmy already has his name on the trophy – so perhaps the call is for the Bohos – Will they get it – not a hope in hall – the Jags have this one sewn up.

Pirates at Avengers

3-7 Tweedbank Pirates face off against the 5-5 Kelsae Avengers at Samuel Sawyer Memorial Park.
Pirates were led in week 10 by a 16.02 point effort fromBlake Bortles. Tweedbank Pirates can expect a 15.28 point effort from Blake Bortles in week 11.

Avengers were led in week 10 by a 13.44 point effort from Sam Bradford.  T.J. Yeldon was not injured before the start of his week 10 game, and contributed 6.70 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 11 due to an injured foot , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Kelsae Avengers can expect a 9.69 point effort from Jeremy Maclin in week 11.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Paul’sPirates have looked a bit in the Doldrums this year – that rebrand didn’t do everything that it could have, Stuarts Avengers are riding their luck a bit, ok a lot, with comfortably the lowest total score they’ve come up against a few disasters and emerged the winner, enough to put them inexplicably at 5-5. What can this week bring? Both Teams have Jacksonville Jaguars players in action on Thursday night – though Paul will be sorely dissapointed not to be winning by 10 or more on Friday morning with Blake Bortles on the card. Paul’s also got to hope that he has 8 pts in the bag Monday night with Gostkowski kicking for the Pats. Where does that leave Stuarts’ avengers? Well Calvin Megatron Johnson has been a massive disappointment this year, but that has to be Stuart’s hope.

what do the league want? – a win for Prates for sure- who appear to be out of it. Will they get it? There really doesn’t seem to be anything to stop them, and the Pit goes with those pirates.

that’s it for week 11 – see you on the chat sunday night!

View from the Pit 2015 week 9

Week 9 is here with a bang, will there be any fireworks in the EFFL caused by the Browns Bengals Bonfire night Bash? For any of our American friends, 5th November is when we Brits celebrate someone spending months in the planning and then not quite getting then job done – reminds me of Pirates and Tigers, its also the night when small children can drag round a ‘Guy’,something resembling a legendary figure cobbled together from any old piece of junk – which incidentally also reminds me a bit of Paul and Nicky’s rosters, but I’m sure you were way ahead of me with that one

Five games left – you are probably wondering if anyone has sealed a playoff spot yet – I dont think so, but Rab has got to be close at 6-2, at the other end this a couple of teams need a mega rocket and not another damp squib, so lets get things going with a couple of must win matches

anyway, bonfire night – I cant find anything vaguely relevant on youtube without being bombarded by Katy Perry and the numerous metal cover versions of Firework – so we’ll just go with this instead:

Pirates at Jaguars

2-6 Tweedbank Pirates, who hope to end their 5 game losing streak, challenge the 5-3 Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars at Die Walküre Stadion.

Pirates were led in week 8 by a 14.74 point effort from Andrew Luck. Tweedbank Pirates can expect a 16.08 point effort from Andrew Luck in week 9.

Jaguars were led in week 8 by a 30.34 point effort fromTom BradyKeenan Allen was not injured before the start of his week 8 game, and contributed 9.50 points, but he’s now on the injured reserve, which will prevent him from contributing at all this week. Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars can expect a 21.99 point effort from Tom Brady in week 9

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015, and is sure to be a classic showdown. In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Tweedbank Pirates hold a 2-1-0 all-time series record against Jimmy’s Jerman Jaguars.Paul needs to hope that he can continue his slightly in the black record against Jimmy. It could all be over bar the shouting at 2 – 7 you’ll almost certainly need to be at least even money to have any chance of a playoff spot – though Kirk is still the most open of the divisions. Jimmy on the other hand is riding high, but only just in the super competative Uhura league, anyone could be top after week 9.

The numbers don’t look good for Paul – Jimmy has a good 15 points in the spread, not helped because Paul has no one else to turn to at RB or WR with everyone else on a bye week. The Bengals DST looks a safe option to get things started on Bonfire night but after that Gostkowski is a lone star against a set of formidable studs lining up for Jimmy – sorry Paul but the pit is going with the numbers on this one and its a win for the jags.

Fog at Tigers

4-4 Fog on the Tyne challenge the 2-6 Tranent Tigers at Polson Park.
Fog were led in week 8 by a 22.96 point effort from Joe Flacco. With Flacco on bye in week 9, they’ll need to count on their second-string QB to carry the team this week. In addition, Brandon Marshall was not injured before the start of his week 8 game, and contributed 10.80 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 9 due to an injured ankle , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Fog on the Tyne can expect a 14.06 point effort from Tyrod Taylor in week 9.

Tigers were led in week 8 by a 17.30 point effort from Brian Hoyer. WithHoyer on bye in week 9, they’ll need to count on their second-string QB to carry the team this week.Tranent Tigers can expect a 13.79 point effort from Blake Bortles in week 9.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Struggling tigers look to have a better shot at a comeback than the Pirates. Tyler Eifert is a lonely firework in this game, and Stuart will look for a solid 8 point TE performance there. Elsewhere in the lineups Tigers have a distinct advantage at RB whilst the WR predictions are much closer, depending who you look at. A lot rides on whether Brandon Marshall is fit to play. This game is bookended by TEs as Nicky’s antonio Gates will finish things off on Monday night. It could be close but the pit is going with the Tigers to get back on track.

Fire at Panthers

5-3 Fife Fire challenge the 6-2 Pilton Panthers at Pilton Park.
Fire were led in week 8 by a 18.02 point effort from Cam NewtonLe’Veon Bellwas not injured before the start of his week 8 game, and contributed 5.80 points, but he’s now on the injured reserve, which will prevent him from contributing at all this week. Fife Fire can expect a 18.17 point effort from Cam Newton in week 9.

Panthers were led in week 8 by a 17.60 point effort from Alshon Jeffery.  Pilton Panthers can expect a 16.51 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger in week 9.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015, a top table tussle if there ever was one, last week these 2 were level pegging, but now the Panthers have stretched a game up. Panthers have a wee bit of a bye week problems but still look to be strong across the lineup. Fire will be putting themselves out with the tears after the loss of #1 pick Le’veon Bell, but they could still surprise with the second string. There could be a couple in action for the Shaun on Bonfire night – that has to be an omen surely? Bernard and Benjamin are not guaranteed a place in the lineup though, but Bernard will surely play and get the Fire off too a burning start. Panthers have plenty of possibilities to catch the Fire though on Sunday abd will be looking to Martin and Stewart to chase those numbers down. Its not over for either team till Tuesday morning though and Monday looks like it could be sleepless – Rab will need to be no more than 10 behind to think that he has it in the bag with Pip Rivers, as Robbie Gould has kicked some pretty serious points so far this year. The Pit is going with Fire to even things out at the top.

187s at Pickaxe

3-5 Kelso 187’s play the 5-3 Nitten Pickaxe at New Victoria Park.
“187’s were led in week 8 by a 20.10 point effort from Julian Edelman, who got by the Miami Dolphins defense for 81 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs. Ladarius Green was not injured before the start of his week 8 game, and contributed 1.00 points, but he’s listed as questionable in week 9 due to an injured ankle , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Kelso 187’s can expect a 16.85 point effort from Eli Manning in week 9.

Pickaxe were led in week 8 by a 19.00 point effort from Willie Snead,Nitten Pickaxe can expect a 18.15 point effort from Devonta Freeman in week 9,

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015, and is sure to be a hard-fought struggle. Its a monster bye week for the Hawks heavy Pickaxe and Gav has had to think hard about picking up so  backup, but the Pickaxe do have a full lineup at least. Euan’s WR trio team continue to bne very highly ranked, all with 12 point predictions on MFL. Pickaxe look to the RB squad to even those numbers out – Ivory and Freeman have been leaving 1st round pick Lynch in the shade for a few weeks anyhow – so he might not be greatly missed. Week 9 could also see Desean Jackson back in action -though its not ideal against the Pats. Speaking of which the Pats DST could be Gav’s high scorers this week. With no fireworks on Thursday night it’s another Monday night nailbiter as both teams wait to the wee small hours to settle this one – Jay Cutler as a waiver QB pickup for the Pickaxe and Danny Woodhead Running for 187s. MFL have it pretty close, but a few more waiver shuffles and lineup choices could sort this one out – its a win for Pickaxe

Bohemians at 69ers

4-4 Earlstonian Bohemians face off against the 3-5 SanFran-Gordon 69ers at Castle Greyskull.
Bohemians were led in week 8 by a 31.00 point effort from Odell Beckham. Earlstonian Bohemians can expect a 17.17 point effort from Andy Dalton in week 9.

69ers were led in week 8 by a 17.80 point effort from A.J. Green. SanFran-Gordon 69ers can expect a 18.89 point effort from Aaron Rodgers in week 9. ”

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015, and is sure to be a epic battle. In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Earlstonian Bohemians hold a 1-1-0 all-time series record against SanFran-Gordon 69ers. On the face of it this is a top to bottom challenge, but both teams are in their respective positions thanks to a few points in overall scores or divisional math ups – wither could climb or drop a place this week. As usual The Gronk is a highlight for the 69ers, he’s one of the only 1st round picks still standing and living up to his billing. Elsewhere it looks like bohos all the way – Richie is still to find a kicker and that of course could boost his chances, but with who is left on the waivers it will be boom or bust for sure. Richie has 4 players on a bye and that is really hurting especially at RB where he very little to celebrate. Bohos on the other hand have Gary Barnidge looking like one of the pickups of the season , albeit a bit late on but he’s scored more in each of his 3 weeks for the Bohos than coach aaly had seen for the rest of the season. The numbers imply do not add up to 69 this week and it will surely be a win for the bohemians.

Earthquakes at Avengers

4-4 Earlston Earthquakes, who hope to extend their 4 game winning streak, face off against the 5-3 Kelsae Avengers at Samuel Sawyer Memorial Park.
Earthquakes were led in week 8 by a 29.56 point effort fromCarson Palmer, With Palmer on bye in week 9, they’ll need to count on their second-string QB to carry the team this week. In addition, Khiry Robinson was not injured before the start of his week 8 game, and contributed 1.70points, but he’s now on the injured reserve, which will prevent him from contributing at all this week. Earlston Earthquakes can expect a 19.19 point effort from Todd Gurley in week 9.

Avengers were led in week 8 by a 20.70 point effort from Ben Watson. Kelsae Avengers can expect a 12.18 point effort from Eddie Lacy in week 9.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2015. Last but not least the resurgent Earthquakes and Avengers, just a month ago the Quakes had probably all but written themselves off and the Avengers were looking by far the lesser of the 2 rookies – how things have changed! The big bye week hits Avengers hardest though as they lose two of their deep WR roster. Earthquakes suffer too but its much more spread out and coach Chris will look to Todd Gurley to continue an outstanding run of form at RB. Coach Stuart just needs his rag tag bunch to hold together for this week – and he has a good chance with his RB trio intact, there’s no one standout in the 3 but that is the hidden strength – there’s surely 2 TDs between the 3 of them. This is a tough call, but the Pit is going for Earthquakes to continue their winning ways in week 9.

Thats yer lot for for bonfire week – remember its better to burn out than fade away folks!
